Why we built a video editor
you just talk to.
Editing was never about software. It was always about decisions. Here's why we made those decisions a conversation.
Editing is the last part of making a video that still feels like a punishment.
You do the fun part, you have the idea, you press record, you say the thing. And then you open an editor and hit a wall of tracks, keyframes, and menus that have almost nothing to do with the video you're trying to make. The decisions were simple: cut the boring bit, add captions, put some music under it. The tools were not.
We built Blob because that gap never made sense to us.
The belief
Editing is a series of decisions you already know how to describe. "Cut the dead air." "Caption it." "Add music that doesn't bury my voice." "Trim it to thirty seconds." None of those sentences require software knowledge. They require taste, which you have, and a tool that just does what you asked.
So we made the tool a conversation. You say what you want, and Blob makes it, generating the video from your idea, or working from footage you upload. There's no timeline, because a timeline is a way of operating software, and operating software was never the point. If it's not right, you say so, and it changes. Editing becomes what it always should have been: a back-and-forth about a video, not a wrestling match with an interface.
Show, don't just tell
Some things are easier to point at than to describe. So you can pause on any frame, circle or scribble on exactly what you want changed, and tell Blob. It edits the thing you pointed at. It's the difference between describing a spot on a wall over the phone and just walking over and putting your finger on it.
Who it's for
Blob is for the people who make video because they have something to say, not because they love editing. YouTubers who'd rather film the next one than spend a day cutting this one. Podcasters turning long conversations into clips. Marketers shipping more shorts than any one editor could keep up with. Anyone who's ever thought "I know exactly what I want, I just don't want to make it myself."
What we promise
Your footage is yours. It's private to your account, and any code you share for a product demo is never read, reused, or used to build competing products. You can delete anything, or everything, whenever you want. We talk about what Blob does for you, the finished cut, and we keep how it works under the hood our business, so you can keep your attention on the work.
We think the best software disappears. You should be thinking about your video, not about us. If we've done our job, editing stops feeling like a second job, and your next video is one sentence away.
