Privacy Policy

Last updated June 1, 2026

Your privacy matters, and with a video editor it matters twice, because you're trusting us with your footage, not just your email address. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, how we use it, and the commitments we make about your content. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@blob.video.

The short version

  • Your footage and projects are private to your account.
  • We never read, reuse, or train on the source code you share for a demo.
  • You can delete any project, or your entire account, at any time.
  • We collect the minimum we need to run the service and never sell your data.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and basic authentication details so we can create and secure your account.

Content you upload. To edit your videos, we store the footage, audio, images, and other files you upload, along with the projects and edits you create from them. This content exists to power your editing and is associated with your account.

Usage information. We collect basic information about how you use Blob, such as which features you use and errors you encounter, so we can keep the service reliable and improve it.

Billing information. When you add funds, our payment provider processes your payment. We receive confirmation of your purchase and account balance, but we do not store your full card details on our servers.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the core service: store your footage and produce the edits you ask for.
  • Maintain your account, process payments, and provide support.
  • Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • Communicate with you about your account and important service updates.
  • Improve Blob's features and reliability over time.

What we do not do with your footage

This is the most important part, so we'll be direct.

We do not sell your personal data. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for their marketing.

We keep your content private by default. Your uploads and projects are visible only to you, unless you explicitly choose to share something.

Your code, screenshots, and project files

To generate a product or SaaS demo, you can share materials such as a screen recording, screenshots, a link to your site, or a zip of your project (which may include source code). We treat these with the same commitments as your footage, and a few more specific to code:

  • We do not read, review, reuse, or redistribute your source code. It is used only, and automatically, to produce the demo you asked for.
  • We never use your code, screenshots, or project files to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
  • We do not use your materials to build competing products, and we don't share them with anyone outside the automated pipeline that generates your demo.
  • You retain all ownership of and intellectual property in anything you upload. You can delete these uploads at any time, along with the project they belong to.

In short: your code stays yours. We just make the demo.

Service providers

Running Blob relies on trusted infrastructure and service providers, for example, to host data, process payments, and send email. These providers process information only as needed to perform their function for us, under confidentiality obligations, and are not permitted to use your content for their own purposes.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your content for as long as your account is active so it's there when you come back to a project. You can delete individual projects at any time, and you can delete your entire account, which removes your content from active systems. Some records may be retained briefly where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons, after which they are removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise these rights from your account settings, or by emailing hello@blob.video. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your content safe and to limit access to it.

Children

Blob is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the date below and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of Blob after an update means you accept the revised policy.
